7. Cheese above Zinal, Switzerland.Coming down from the pass (Col de Sorbois) we met a dairy farmer who showed us his milking operation. An hour later, and a couple thousand feet lower, we were sampling cheese made from these very cows. A quintessential Haute Route stop, this little fromagerie (cheese maker) sells cheap, good cheese right of their cellar.
