Call it a mini-pilgrimage.

Call it a road trip.

Call it an adventure.

Call it a day well-spent.

Call it whatever you want.

Just do it.

***

First, get yourself to San Luis Obispo, CA and head North up the coast on Highway One. Be prepared for one of the most scenic drives anywhere in the world. And for a whole lot of windy road.

You Can Do This:

If you’d like to stay the night at New Camoldoli (and you believe me, you won’t want to leave) make sure you book a room in advance from their website. If the hermitage is full or you’re looking for a cheaper alternative, Limekiln State Park is a gem of a place only a 10 minute drive from the hermitage. You could easily camp there and drive up to the monastary for the services.
