Since I last posted I a photo update I left Santiago and spent a day in Madrid, checking out their fantastic art museums and taking in the city.

I then flew to Lyon, France and caught up with my old friend Fig from college. He's on a very long motorcycle trip across Europe.

Then it was onward to Taizé. I spend 3.5 much needed days here resting and soaking up the great Taizé vibe. As always being here was good for my soul, give me some space to slow down and become aware again of God's love and care.

I also met some cool people: a poet from South Africa & a German man who'd walked from his home in Germany all the way to Santiago, Spain!

I also was thankful to connect with two of the Taizé brothers I met while in Bangladesh.

The very fast and very cool French trains. (Traveling from Taizé to Grenoble)

My first time to Grenoble, France the "Capitol of the Alps." I'm here visiting my friend Rob who I met trekking last year in Switzerland. Rob is a fellow trekking enthusiastic who's hiked the John Muir Trail, the Haute Route, and a tour of the Jungfrau region in Switzerland.

He's an American currently doing his post-doc research in Grenoble, living the French lifestyle of food and hiking while being a fantastic host to me as I prepare for my next long walk.

A street performer in Grenoble. Kinda creepy. Kinda amazing.

Gotta love the French cheese. Rob buying the goods before our big hike yesterday.

This is what 4,000 feet of climbing and four hours of walking gets you, right from Rob's front door.
